Gunnhild Øyehaug

Helge Skodvin

Gunnhild Øyehaug (b 1975, Norway) is an author and a teacher at the Academy of Writing in Bergen. She was previously co-editor of the journals Kraftsentrum and Vagant and a literary critic on Morgenbladet and Klassekampen.

Øyehaug has scripted a feature and a short film, and her books have been published in Denmark, Sweden, Germany and elsewhere. Her short story collection Knutar +  and her novel Vente, blinke were published in the USA in 2017 and 2018 respectively. Vente, blinke was nominated for the US National Book Award in 2018.

She received the Bjørnson Scholarship in 2006, the Dobloug Prize in 2009 and the Sult Prize in 2009. 

Her latest book is Gunnhild – kona til Eirik Blodøks.
