Young voices from Bergen and Durban

Harmony in Diversity:  An Interdisciplinary Stage Reading 

A interdisciplinary stage reading performance celebrating the work of South African writers Kwandile Hadebe and Abongile Tyopo, and Norwegian writer Julia Martinčič. 

This is not just a performance; it is a celebration of the arts coming together to create a unique and inclusive experience. By breaking down barriers between disciplines, this project aims to inspire a sense of unity and appreciation for the richness that diversity brings to the creative process.

LitFestBergen and the Time of the Writer festival in Durban, South Africa have entered into an exchange project in which young, dynamic literature interns examine the cultural and literary landscape in each other’s towns and countries. This event is the culmination of the collaboration between two South African interns, Nomthandazo Shandu and Andisa Mpisi, and two Norwegian interns, Amanda Hersvik and Lea Bakken. They are joined on stage by author Julia Martinčič, winner of the 2021 LitFestBergen writing competition, as well as dancer and choreographer Rita María Muñoz Farías.
