Erlend and Herborg in Olav’s bed

In the loft at the home of Erlend O Nødtvedt is the poet Olav Nygard’s bed. Erlend has two small children, so he is sometimes short of sleep. Sometimes he goes and lies down in Olav Nygard’s bed, and when he sleeps there his dreams may include ‘vague female forms’, ‘Freud urinating’ and ‘a German shepherd dog in a wooden cage’. In the book Olav Nygard’s bed the texts orbit around sleep, insomnia, dreams, night and the poetry and life of Olav Nygard. On the hundredth anniversary of the death of Olav Nygard Erlend O Nødtvedt is joined by Herborg Kråkevik, editor, singer and actor, entering the ‘shattered sleep of the righteous’.

This is a free second chapter about Olav and Erlend’s dreams. The first took place at the Literature House in Bergen on 15 November.

The event will be in Norwegian.
