Thea Stabell

Thea Stabell (b 1939, Norway) is an actor, director and educator.

After graduating from Statens teaterhøgskule (The States Theatre High School), she debuted as an actor on 1963 at Oslo Nye Teater.

Since 1970 she has freelanced as an actor and director at various stages around the country. Stabell has also acted in several films and TV series.

Stabell was the artistic director at Torshovteater from 1992 to 1994.

In 2006 Stabell became the first professor of acting at Kunsthøgskule (Art High School) in Oslo. In 2009, she was appointed Knight 1st Class of the Order of St. Olav.
