Sigbjørn Skåden

Sigbjørn Skäden (b 1976, Norway) is a Sami author.

He has a higher degree in literary science from the University of Tromsø, and additionally a master’s degree in British Literature from the University of York. He made his debut in 2004 with the long poem Skuovvadeddjiid gonagas (The Cobbler King, published in Norwegian in 2007). The book was nominated for the Nordic Council Literature Prize in 2007.

He has since published poetry, a children’s book and novels, the most recent being the novel Fugl (Bird, 2019).
