Laila Bokhari

Laila Bokhari (b 1974, UK) is a Norwegian political scientist, researcher and author. She has concentrated particularly on terrorism and politically motivated violence in south and central Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

Bokhari has served with the UN Security Council’s Al-Qaida Taliban monitoring team in New York, worked at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (Nupi), and been an adviser to various Nato working groups. 

She was state secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister from 2013 and at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2016-17.

Her book Hellig Vrede. Min reise gjennom Pakistan was published in 2010, and followed in 2015 by Arven etter far, writtern in collaboration with Åshild Eidem.
