Tiril Broch Aakre

Tiril Broch Aakre (b 1976, Norway) is an author of books for both adults and children.

Her first novel, Redd barna, received Ungdommens kritikerpris in 2015 (The Young Critics’ Award), and a second novel, Fjällräven gul, was released to critical acclaim the following year. Her third novel, Mødre og døtre was published in 2019. She was named as one of NORLA (Norwegian Literature Abroad)’s New Voices — a group of exceptionally promising Norwegian writers whose work merits international attention.

She is also an award-winning translator from English to Norwegian, with her version of Allen Zadoff’s Boy Nobody receiving Oversetterprisen, a translator’s prize awarded by the Norwegian Ministry of Culture, in 2014. 

She studied at the University of Bergen, and is currently based in Hakadal.
