The girls who disappeared

In 2014, the Boko Haram terrorist group kidnapped 276 schoolgirls in Nigeria. Why? Because they were girls and going to school. Boko Haram believes that girls and women should remain uneducated, stay at home and do what men tell them.

What happened to those girls? Helon Habila provides an answer in his book The Chibok Girls. He returned to Nigeria from the USA to meet parents and some of the girls who managed to escape. Pupils from Rothaugen School interview Habila about the schoolgirls who disappeared and the book he has written about them.

The event will be repeated at 10.00 in Auditoriet. Both events are for invited lower secondary school pupils only.

The conversation will be in English.
