FILM: Vida y ficción

Why do we continue to write when the world is the way it is? This was the question Spanish film directors Edurne Portela and José Ovejero put to a number of well-known authors who live in Spain or have a relationship with the country – including Colombian Juan Gabriel Vásquez, who is attending LitFestBergen.

Vida y ficción (Life and fiction) invites viewers to reflect on fundamental questions addressed in literature: life and death, pain and body, memory and history. This documentary takes a deep and also humorous look at contemporary literature in Spanish.

The two directors will provide a brief introduction.
