Sigrun Slapgard

Sigrun Slapgard (b 1953, Norway) is an author, reporter and director of documentary films. She has written books of reportage, novels and biographies.

The latter include Dikterdronningen about Sigrid Undset, which has been translated to Swedish, Russian and Estonian. Slapgard was nominated for the Brage Prize and received the Melsom Prize for Krigens penn. Ein biografi om Lise Lindbæk (2002), about a Norwegian war correspondent.

She has also written books about her work as a war correspondent and from the year she lived in Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. Her latest book of reportage is Eg har sett Jaguaren (2018), dealing with Latin America.
