Kei Miller

Kei Miller (b 1978, Jamaica) is an author who writes novels, short stories, essays and poetry.

He made his literary debute in 2006 with The Fear of Stones and other stories, which was nominated for the Commonwealth Writers' Prize for best first book. Miller won the Forward Prize for his 2014 poetry collection The Cartographer Tries to Map a Way to Zion.

He has an MA in creative writing from Manchester Metropolitan University and a PhD in English literature from the University of Glasgow. He is also a teacher of creative writing.

An essayist, novelist and academic, as well as one of the most charismatic live performers (..) There’s an innate musicality to his work, especially in his rhythms of speech.
