Jan Grue

Jan Grue (b 1981, Norway) is an author and professor of qualitative methods in the department of special needs education at the University of Oslo.

His particular research interests include disability studies, health and illness, embodiment and normality. Grue made his literary debut with the short story collection Alt under kontroll (2010), and has since published several collections of short stories and the novel Det blir ikke bedre (2016).

He has also written children’s books and textbooks, including Kroppspråk on presentations of disability from a cultural and socio-analytical perspective. Grue published the autobiographical Jeg lever et liv som ligner deres in 2018. His books have been translated into English, Hungarian and Danish.
