Helge Jordal

Helge Jordal (b 1946, Norway) is an actor and singer. He won Norway’s Amanda Prize for his role in the 1985 film Orion’s Belt, and the Amanda Prize’s award of honour in 2009.

Trained at the National College of Dramatic Art, Jordal worked for a year at Trøndelag Theatre before joining the National Theatre in Oslo during 1972. He was permanently employed by Den Nationale Scene in Bergen in 1981-87, but has subsequently freelanced.

Jordal has played a number of major roles on stage and in film. He was appointed a knight of Norway’s Order of St Olav in 2006.
