Camara Lundestad Joof

Camara Lundestad Joof (b 1988) is a Norwegian-Gambian actor, dramatist and author. Her artistic work is primarily documentary in form, and deals with racism, identity, language and power structures.

Joof is the resident dramatist at Oslo’s House of Drama, helps to manage Den Mangfaldige Scenen theatre for children and young people, and has performed her autobiographical solo show Pavlovs tispe more than 200 times in Scandinavia.

With Kristina Leganger Iversen, she has translated US author Claudia Rankine’s book Citizen (2014) into Norwegian (Medborgar, 2018). In 2018, Joof published the book Eg snakkar om det heile tida, where she depicts how the racism she constantly experiences infects her daily life and governs her thoughts.
